Mindful May: Cultivating Wellness in Union County

As spring unfolds across Union County, May serves as a gentle reminder to prioritize our mental well-being. In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, communities throughout the county are hosting events and workshops aimed at fostering mindfulness, resilience, and connection. From restorative nature walks in Watchung Reservation to a garden fair and plant sale to help you create your own peaceful backyard space, there's an abundance of opportunities to engage in self-care and community support.

One standout event is the Nature & Forest Bathing series at Watchung Reservation, led by certified guide Delaney Fay. These guided walks, scheduled for May 17, 24, and 31 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, offer participants a chance to immerse themselves in the natural environment, promoting mindfulness and a deeper connection to nature. Registration is $15 for residents and $20 for non-residents.

Whether you're seeking personal growth or ways to support others, this month is filled with avenues to nurture mental health and embrace the season's renewal.
